Exhibition Open House: Teachers for West Africa Program

Exhibition Open House: Teachers for West Africa Program In-Person

Join us for a discussion of A Decade of Service: The Teachers for West Africa Program, 1962-1972. This interactive exhibition explores the history of the Teachers for West Africa Program (TWAP), a joint partnership between Elizabethtown College and the Hershey Corporation that sent over 200 American teachers to Ghana and Nigeria. The exhibition features materials from the College’s Hess Archives as well as a podcast and digital archive created by students in the Mellon grant-funded course PHS203: Archival Resources and Digital Humanities. The discussion and exhibition are free and open to the public.

The exhibition is open all hours the High Library is open from January 27 - February 21.

The Center for Global Understanding and Peacemaking will also host a presentation by former TWAP teachers Quimby and Milosh Mamula on February 19 from 7-8 PM in the Young Center.
