Peacebuilding, Music & Ecological Care: The Power of Music-Making in Rooted Places

Peacebuilding, Music & Ecological Care: The Power of Music-Making in Rooted Places In-Person

Anyone interested in education and music won't want to miss this presentation from Dr. Daniel Shevock on Monday, Sept. 30 at 7 pm in High Library on the main floor. Dr. Shevock is a lecturer in music at Penn State at Altoona and a pioneering leader in making connections between ecological literacy and music.

Notions of ecological care arrive at a new philosophy for music education and education more broadly as a spiritual praxis rooted in soil communities, informed by ecology's intrinsic value for non-human beings and music making.

This event, which was rescheduled from this past winter due to inclement weather, is free and open to the public. Questions? Contact Kevin Shorner-Johnson at shornerk@etown.edu.
