Global Film Festival: The Overture (Thailand) In-Person
The Overture is a fictionalized account of Thai palace musician Luang Pradit from the late nineteenth century to the 1940s. It was the country's official selection for the 2004 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The Overture was a sensation that won numerous awards and sparked renewed interest in Thai classical music. It is one of the most popular Thai films of the twenty-first century.
