Choose Happiness & Leffler Lecture Book Club In-Person

The November pick of the Choose Happiness Book Club is Proud: My Fight for an Unlikely American Dream, by Ibtihaj Muhammad.

This year's Leffler Lecture speaker, Ibtihaj Muhammad is the first Muslim American woman in hijab to compete for the United States in the Olympic Games. She is also the firm female Muslim American to medal at the Olympic Games, winning bronze in the Women's Saber event.

But her path to Olympic Greatness has been marked by opposition and near-debilitating challenges because of her race, religion, and gender.

Proud is the inspiring story of how Ibtihaj pushed past stererotypes, misconceptions, and negativity to find her own path to success and Olympic gloy.

Please join the High Library for a discussion of Proud: My Fight for an Unlikely American Dream, by Ibtihaj Muhammad, on Friday, November 2 at 11am.
