The Journey of Professor Desmond Yengi In-Person
This semester the library is proud to feature Dr. Desmond Yengi, Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry. Join us for a fascinating presentation in which Dr. Yengi will share the story of his journey from Sudan to the United States.
Dr. Yengi fled war in Sudan with his family when he was very young, and his family resettled in Uganda where he spent most of his childhood. As a teenager, he received a scholarship to attend a high school in Wales. This academic pathway led him to study mathematics and chemistry at Westminster College in Missouri and West Virginia University where he earned his PhD in physical chemistry.
We invite you to join us for this unique opportunity to learn about Dr. Yengi’s extraordinary story of resilience and academic success.
